KIDS HELP PHONE, SEETHER, & WIND-UP RECORDS CANADA JOIN FORCES TO
RISE ABOVE

Toronto, April 28, 2008
--South African-based rock band Seether and their record label
Wind-up Records Canada have teamed up with Kids Help Phone to create
a powerful national campaign to aid youth in crisis.
Music fans are encouraged to visit the Kids Help Phone website at
www.kidshelpphone.ca/seether to view Seether’s music video
for ‘Rise Above This’. For each view that the video receives,
Wind-up Records Canada will make a donation to the charity in the
viewer’s name.
“Today, youth in Canada are dealing with a lot of tough issues and
it’s important they know they have a place to turn for help,” said
Meghan Reddick, Director, Marketing and e-Services, Kids Help Phone.
“‘Rise Above This’ is a powerful video that raises awareness about
teen suicide and the importance of getting help. We appreciate the
support from Seether and Wind-up Records and money raised from the
video will allow Kids Help Phone to continue providing counselling
and hope to young people across Canada.”
‘Rise
Above This’, the song that inspired the partnership with Seether,
Wind-up Records and Kids Help Phone, was written to offer hope to
singer Shaun Morgan’s brother, Eugene, before he took his life last
year. Seether is proud to share this song with the Kids Help Phone
Organization in hopes that the band can contribute to making a
positive difference in the lives of youth around the world.
In addition to the video promoting awareness about suicide
prevention, the donation made by Wind-up Records Canada will
financially assist the professional counsellors on staff, in turn
allowing Kids Help Phone to support the growing number of young
people seeking support, understanding, and guidance with the many
pressing matters that youth face today.
“Wind-up Records Canada is privileged to partner with Seether and
Kids Help Phone to bring this important message of hope and
inspiration to Canadian youth, through the power of music and
video,” states Ron Morse, General Manager for Wind-up Records
Canada. “It is our hope that this campaign will help to shine a
light on the valuable work being done by Kids Help Phone to bring
support to children and youth across the country.”
The video went live on Kids Help Phone’s website April, 2008 and
will remain there until June 2008. ‘Rise Above This’ can also be
seen on major music video stations and heard on local radio stations
across Canada. All you have to do is visit
www.kidshelpphone.ca/seether and view ‘Rise Above This’ to
send a donation to Kids Help Phone in your name.
